The building, designed by Félix Sáenz Marrero, was built in 1957 to house the facilities of the Cine La Vera. A few months later, a strong windstorm destroyed most of the building. Throughout the year 1958 the reconstruction works concluded and the reopening of the cinema took place, which maintained its operations until the year 1975.

Since its closure, the property has had different uses: from a pharmacy to a car dealership, and lately a trade for the sale of fruit and vegetables.

As a consequence of those various transformations that the building has went through, the original structure has been altered, and therefore, all the characteristic elements of a movie theater have disappeared. The stalls or the stands on the upper floor no longer exist.

One of the most important modifications that the property has undergone over the years is the expansion of the upper level floor up to the projection of the old stage curtain.

Thus, the rehabilitation is proposed by developing a program that contains commercial and administrative uses, so as to recover a listed building in which a commercial public space can be promoted, at the scale of the neighborhood.

This new urban center will become a place that enhances the endowments of the area, takes advantage of the benefits of the landscape and enriches the local leisure offer.
